Georgia's ability to command the world to bend to her will is wondrous to behold. The heat-wave is not bringing out her best. Toddlers all over the hot country are grumpy and not sleeping according to Callum who can see the result of this in his office. Grumpy hot toddlers are command fanatics as they try to get the world to do their bidding. On the way to see my friend at the weekend I had the front windows of the car open to try and get some circulation of air, the effect was more haboob than mistral and I wondered why I bothered. So did Georgia apparently as she reclined in the back and said 'Enough wind'. Indeed.

She also has 'the look' down pat. Recently in a fit of misplaced generosity I gave away her favourite ball. It is a small ball (see picture above), which when struck flashes like a mini disco world. I bought two of these balls, one for Georgia and one for my friend Tim who loves balls. Only one of them worked when I got them home and I quickly forgot to return to the shop and replace the broken one. On a recent weekend away I came across the working ball and Tim simultaneously and grandly carried out my plan to give Tim the ball. I thought I would definitely get to the shop soon and get Georgia a working version. Here she is giving me the look that tells you far more eloquently than I that I have not yet replaced her ball.
